Frequently asked questions.

  1. Are you affirming of diverse identities?

It is deeply important to me to offer affirmative counseling that values your unique journey. Affirming counseling acknowledges the impact of racism, sexism, homophobia, transphobia, ableism, classism, fatphobia, religious discrimination, and other types of structural and systemic inequality. For some this is the central focus of counseling, while others prefer to let it sit in the background. Either way, it is essential that you feel seen and valued with all of your intersecting identities.

2. How much do you charge? Do you take insurance?

I offer a free 15-minute consultation to determine if we are a good fit for working together. After that, my hourly self-pay rate is $175/hour.

I will soon be able to accept Aetna & Optum insurances in both Massachusetts and Arkansas. I will also be able to accept Anthem BCBS in Massachusetts. At this time I am not able to accept BCBS in Arkansas.

In the meantime, I am happy to provide you with a superbill to present to your insurance company to request reimbursement for out-of-network providers.

3. Can you see me if Iā€™m in a state other than Arkansas or Massachusetts?

Not at this time. I am only licensed to see clients who are physically located in Arkansas and Massachusetts.

4. Do you offer in-person services?

At this time, I am only able to offer telehealth services on Monday-Thursday from 9am-6pm EST (last appointment of the day scheduled for 5 pm).

5. Do you offer couples counseling or counseling for children?

My services are primarily for individual adults.

6. How do I schedule an appointment?

If you are a new client, you can email me to request a free 15-minute consultation at elizabeth@drelizabethstout.com. Please give me a one to two sentence description of your goal/reason for visit and a couple of days/times that you are available to meet. If you are an existing client, please visit the client portal link at the top of the page to send me a secure message through the client portal.
